Team Thailand 2011

The Thailand National Debate Team this year is consisted of the most eccentric individuals ever.

Alice, the Captain of the team, was selected because everyone thought that she was good at finance. However, when she tried to be a bookie, she got ripped off by all of her friends without knowing.

Pon is the most mature debater in the team, and by that we mean the oldest. Although very smart and sensible, she unfortunately has a very unique sense of fashion.

Gem, this half Australian girl is perhaps the most interesting one upon us. She has survived in a Thai school without the ability to read or write Thai.

Rain is a reliable, nice girl who can easily be transformed with a taste of candy. A “Sugar-Rushed Rain” will no longer portray the mature 15 years old, but rather, the girl who reminds you of your best friend in primary school.

Puff normally has a cool, calm and collective character on display, but once you actually get to know her, you will realize that there is a very playful, hyperactive teenager beneath that exterior. She is also an expert in the art of sarcasm and jokes.

Megan, our naive youngest sister, is trying to learn about how to make jokes, and how to understand one. Sadly, the skills have not been perfected yet. That gives Puff the perfect opportunity to strike.

Luang P, our Head Coach, is an expert in morality, international relations and of course, religion. The Holiness is the balance to keep this all girls team from crossing the line of sanity.

Mabrouq, our Co-Coach, is a resident of ‘the sinking island’. He always keeps us updated about environmental issues through his witty remarks.

Wen-Yu, the Taiwanese Co-Coach, by the nature of her citizenship, Wen-Yu is a hard-core human right activist who motivates the team to always support minority rights.

Gary is our beloved adjudicator. He is from Hawaii. He loves his family, tennis and baseball. Gary has the extraordinary ability to keep up our team’s spirit. His favorite quote is “Winning is a chance for confidence. Losing is a chance for growth.” Lately, Gary has been growing a lot (said Wen-Yu).

Ajarn Gia, the team manager/ paparazzi, provides the team with countless numbers of wonderful and memorable picture from her camera.
